Cooking with Moumita – Prawn Malai Curry

Filmed in what would be the kitchen of our make-believe festival in the front room, Sayanti talks us how to make a Prawn Malai curry for Williams upcoming birthday, and find a little time to party!

Recipe

Ingredients

  • Prawns
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Ginger Paste
  • Green chill
  • Dhania
  • Jeera powder
  • Yoghurt
  • Coconut milk
  • Tumeric
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Dust prawns with turmeric and salt
  • Lightly fry it
  • Remove the prawns from the frying pan and put in a dish
  • Add green chillies
  • Then add ginger, garlic, onion paste or crushed ingredients and fry
  • Add some dhania jeer powder and keep stirring
  • Add prawns when the onions look cooked.
    Keep stirring and add a dollop pf yoghurt
  • Add water and cover the pan, keep it on low heat and let it boil for 5-10 mins
  • Then finally add coconut milk and stir, leave it on low heat for 2-3 mins Serve with rice or bread
